When God appeared to Moses in the burning bush, He told him that His name is “ I am that I am.”
Jesus reveals Himself as “ I am that I am.” in many places in the four gospels.
He declares I am Christ, I am the bread of life, I am The door, I am the good shepherd, I am the resurrection and life, I am the way, the truth and the life, I am the vine.
When His disciples were afraid to see Him walking on the waves , His powerful voice booms out saying
“ Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.”
Whatever be our life's situations , remember these words of our Lord and let us not be afraid and let us take courage because He who is mighty and He whose love is unchanging and He who calms the wind and walks on the waves is with us always.
“Do not be afraid, Daughter Zion;
see, your king is coming,
seated on a donkey’s colt.” John 12.15
What a great verse. Our king is coming to us as a humble man whom we can approach easily with our problems and desires. He is a mighty God, but His ears are always open to our petitions. He is never too busy to help us. There is no need for us to be afraid of anything in life. We have a great king, a mighty warrior who comes to us to meet us and accept us in our own humble situations and to help us.
Take courage and do not be afraid because “ I am that I am.” is always with you and you have a great king mightier than anybody else whom you can call upon the day of your trouble and who will surely come to you with the help you need. Praise be to His holy name!
